SO FAR.....
My Life So Far !I graduated in Summer 2008 from the University of Nottingham with a BA Hons in Art History and English, specialising in the study of Film and Theatre. I am now looking to pursue a career in the area of Production Design and since graduation have had valuable experience working as a member of the Art Department in both Theatre and Film.
Earlier this year I worked as a Set Designer on a new YPTC Musical - "1963, They Had a Dream "- in Holborn. This was a fantastic experience, where I and two others were given full responsibility for the vision, planning and construction of the entire set, props and scenery. Set in the 1960's we had fun recreating and designing a traditional English pub, a seedy bar and a trendy, flamboyant, Hair Salon. As an artist myself I was also involved in the production of cast portraits.
This year I also worked as a Personal and Production Assistant to the Director on a new Feature Film, "Jack Said," featuring Danny Dyer. Whilst working closely with the Director on storyboarding I also became a member of the Production Design Team, assisting the Art Director in the continuity of prop and set design.
More recently I have worked at the National Film and Television School on three shorter films as an Assistant to the Art Director, assisiting with set painting, set dressing and continuity. I have had experience in the organisation of location, and the sourcing and construction of props and scenery.
Concerning my personal artwork, I am now slowly building my portfolio and experimenting with new techniques. My aim is to develop my career in TV or film art departments and also to undertake portrait commissions where the subject would benefit from a contemporary, upbeat approach.
